Ford SVT spokesperson Patrick Hespen told PickupTrucks.com that over 1500 orders have been received for the truck so far, exceeding production capacity at the truck plant in Dearborn, Michigan.
The orders have been for the 5.4-liter truck only, even though Ford announced it will also offer a 6.2-liter V-8 in the Raptor this winter. The 6.2-liter V-8 produces an even 400 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque compared to the 5.4-liter V-8’s 310 hp and 365 lb.-ft. of torque.
What helps make the Raptor so appealing to off-roading enthusiasts is the truck’s comparatively low starting price. The 5.4-liter truck starts at $38,995 and the 6.2-liter version starts at $41,995, prices difficult to match when building a truck with the Raptor’s capabilities out of bolt-on parts.
